BMallett said...

By State Law (RSA 37:6) the town manager is responsible for running the functions of town government on a day to day basis, under the general direction of the Board of Selectmen. The town manager is empowered by statute to hire and manage town employees, and have charge and supervision of all town departments. The town manager is also responsible for developing an annual town budget of revenues and expenditures for the Board of Selectmen. Each year the Selectboard sets the goals and objectives which the town manager is expected to achieve. In short, the Selectboard makes policy and sets direction and the town manager is responsible for grants, administration, project management, the financial operation, and the administrative and operational direction of the departments. The town manager advises the boards, commissions and committees of the town, as needed. The town manager is the principle liason to town elected officials, other levels of government and outside agencies and groups which interact with the town.

The town manager's office is located in the James R. Morrill Municipal Building in North Haverhill

Bazzell records 100th point, Engineers ease by Lin-Wood

Janet Bazzell's goal in the first half of Woodsville's game against Lin-Wood not only gave her team a 3-0 lead, it gave her 100 career points. Later Bazzell would add to her tally as the Lady Engineers picked up a 5-0 victory.

Before the season Bazzell needed 28 points to reach 100. "I just kept telling myself, you can do this," Bazzell said of reaching the 100 point milestone. "It was important to me," she added of the goal she set her freshman year.

Although Bazzell scored her 100th point, she admitted it isn't all about scoring for her. "More than anything I want to win the game." It is that kind of attitude that has the Engineers undefeated. "She has all the skills," Leafe said of his star player. "She catches the defense flat-footed. I haven't seen one person that can stop her. If we didn't have Janet we wouldn't be where we are."
